The Yogi administration of Uttar Pradesh issued directives on Wednesday to boost the dearness allowance for employees in the fifth and sixth pay scales. Employees who operate under the pay system suggested by the Sixth Central Pay Commission and adopted by the state government will now get a 230 percent dearness allowance on top of their basic salary.
DA Hike: Similarly, employees in the fifth pay range will get a dearness allowance equal to 427 percent of the total salary and dearness allowance. These employees will benefit from an increase in dearness allowance beginning July 1, 2007. DA Hike: Additional Deepak Kumar, the Chief Secretary of the Finance Department, has issued an order increasing the dearness allowance. From November 1, 2023, the higher rate of dearness allowance will be paid in cash. The remaining amount payable from July 1 to October 31, 2023, will be put in the officer/employee’s provident fund account. Officers and workers who are not members of the Provident Fund account will have their arrears paid into the PPF account or in the form of NSC.
DA Hike: A sum equivalent to 10% of the workers’ NPS-covered residual dearness allowance amount will be put in their tier-one accounts. The state government will deposit 14 percent of the leftover money into the tier-one pension account. 90% of the funds will be distributed in the form of staff PPF or NSC.

DA Hike: Deepak Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance Department, has also issued an order granting the benefit of an increase in dearness allowance from July 1, 2023, to All India Service personnel deployed in the state under the same arrangement. Previously, DA was boosted in other agencies, notably the Transportation Department.
