DA Will Increase to 46 Percent 2023
The Uttar Pradesh administration has made arrangements, as it does every year, to announce a DA rise during Dussehra, just before Diwali. At the moment, DA/DR is paid at a rate of 42 percent to UP workers. After the four percent rise, it will be 46 percent. Let us remind you that the government announces DA increases twice a year.
Every year, the first DA increase takes effect on January 1 and the second on July 1. According to sources, the higher DA for employees would be paid concurrently with the arrears in salary for the month of October.
Three months arrears will also be available in the central government
Earlier on Wednesday, the Modi Cabinet authorised a 4% increase in DA/DR for 49 lakh employees and more than 65 lakh pensioners. Following this, DA for central staff grew to 46%.
While announcing cabinet decisions, the government stated that, in addition to 4 per cent DA, it was agreed to award railway staff a 78-day bonus. The additional DA will be paid to employees in October, with a three-month arrear.
